Vidya Poshak – Program Updates 2nd Quarter (July – Sep 2019)
Vidya Poshak, India is a registered Non-Government Organization (NGO), serving education community from 2001. We strongly believe Education is the solution for Ending Poverty. Nurture Merit – Updates
Vidya Poshak strongly believes Education is the solution for Ending Poverty. When we invest in a Young, economically challenged meritorious youth for a few years, we can break the poverty cycle of a family forever.

During the Year 2019-20 we have selected 400 new students for our support along with the existing 1000 students for renewal. As of Sep 2019 we have already provided financial support to 700+ students with a financial support of INR 60.0 Lakhs. We are in process of raising funds to support the remaining 700 student before Nov 2019.
Back to School - Flood Relief Program in Belgaum
Children often face trauma and sense of helplessness during disasters. They lose a sense of belonging and hope. For most children, their school, education and friends are life as they know it.
Vidya Poshak Team started working on the rehabilitation of children back to schools in 5 talukas of severely flood affected villages of Belgaum. Till date we have provided school kits comprising of Bag, Notebooks, Stationary & other items in 25 schools. We are working on to reach out to another 25 more schools in the month of October.

Skill Training Workshops
During the month of September our focus is to conduct skill workshops to the students on Soft Skills. 
On 8th Sep - Workshop on Goal setting and motivation was conducted by Mr. Praveen Gudi in Lions Sabhabhavana, Lions School Sirsi. 120 Vidya Poshak students studying in various education institutions around Sirsi attended the workshop. We have received positive feedbacks from the participants.
On 16th Sep - Workshop on "Defence Service Career & Opportunities" for college students was conducted by Brigadier S.G.Bhawat a reputed resource person. 90+ students actively participated and made best use of the session. 
On 18th Sep in Bangalore Aptiv Technologies arranged a full day event for Engineering Students. 20 Students supported by Aptiv visited their facility and spent time with the Engineers working on different projects.
On 22nd Sep in Banhatti a workshop on Personality Development conducted by Dr. N.M Bennur Professor S.T.C Arts & Commerce College Banhatti. 49 students attended the workshop and made it a grand success by active participation. 
On 29th Sep in Hubli BVB College, BT Seminar Hall we have arranged a Soft Skills workshop for Degree students. 100+ students actively participated and take the best use of the workshop. Smt. Sandhya Kulkarni a reputed resource person engaged the workshop. We have positive feedback from the students.
Overall 400 students were trained through one day workshops in the month of Sep 2019. Apart from this Vidya Poshak is now got associated with NIIT Foundation to provide short computer training programs in our branch offices. Initially training on Advanced Word & Excel will be provided in Dharwad & Sirsi.

eVidyaloka Project Updates
eVidyaloka program is now being implemented in 20 rural schools across Dharwad block benefitting 1800+ children. Trained volunteer teachers based across the world deliver online interactive sessions through skype in vernacular language to the children studying in 5th to 7th class. 

Susandhi Project Updates
Susandhi Batch-9 started successfully with 22 students on 3rd Sep 2019. Trainees are currently undergoing soft skills training at Deshpande Educational Trust. The training program aims at building confidence among the trainees and bringing significant improvement in Communication in English, Computer Skills, Teamwork, Basics of Banking, Social Responsibility, and Personal Grooming.
Batch-8 training program got completed in the month of July 2019. Fifteen trainees have successfully completed their technical training.  Two trainees have joined for internship with Blynkspeak, working in Software and IoT products. Three trainees have joined for internship with Linkez Technology. They work in IoT products. Four trainees have started internship with Ionidea.
