Nurture Merit – Updates Vidya Poshak strongly believes Education is the solution for Ending Poverty. When we invest in a Young, economically challenged meritorious youth for a few years, we can break the poverty cycle of a family forever.
During the Year 2019-20 we have selected 400 new students for our support along with the existing 1000 students for renewal. As of Sep 2019 we have already provided financial support to 700+ students with a financial support of INR 60.0 Lakhs. Key Highlights 2018

Nurture Merit
Nurture Merit Program is a well-designed, structured and focused program to support bright students coming from economically challenged families to continue their post 10th education to enable them to be graduate and thus relating a meaningful employment or self-employment.  In 2018, a total amount of INR 83 lakhs was disbursed as financial assistance to 1279 students.
Statistical details 2600+ houses visited by volunteers across 68 talukas to identify deserving students64% of the beneficiaries were girls90% of students supported are from rural regions of 10 districts of KarnatakaDuring the year 331 students were trained through 7 Residential Bridge camps till December, 2018 and 4 more are planned for the 4th quarter of the academic year 2018-19.5000 rural youths made use of the 5 Libraries/Knowledge resource centers located at Hubli, Bijapur, Belgaum, Sirsi & Davangere

Thank you for joining hands with us, we appreciate your kind gesture in extending a helping hand for the noble cause of nurturing meritorious but economically challenged students.  None of our work could be done without our amazing supporters like you. With your great support we are nurturing meritorious students and going to nurture nonacademic excellent students from this year.
We are pleased to share you with the Quarter highlights of Vidya Poshak activities

1. We have trained 28 different background professionals on personal and career counselling under the new initiative of Carving out Counsellors program with the Association of Samdhana trust in Dharwad. The trainees committed to provide free counselling in their districts.   
2. Our Alumni Scholar Mr Avinash Naduvinamani cleared UPSC IAS Exams in 2017

3. 12 students were qualified JEE advanced in that 3 students were cleared JEE mains exam through our IIT/JEE training program.

Nurture Merit Program 
This program includes Financial Assistance, Library/Book Bank facilities and Residential Bridge Camp. The mission is to provide financial assistance to meritorious students who cannot afford to continue their higher education owing to their financial difficulties. To-date Vidya Poshak has invested more than INR 300 million on this.
Key Highlights (April 2016 - Oct 2016) ·   During the year nearly 4200 applications were received for financial assistance. After Home visits, we found 474 new students were eligible for financial assistance. Out of the 474 new students 338 were assisted under Nurture merit scheme and 136 students were supported under Matching grant program. 
·   During the year all together 1500 Meritorious and financial challenged students were financially assisted with a sum of INR 75 Lakh to pursue their higher education (Till date). 
·   60% of the total student beneficiaries were girls this year 
·   More than 15,000+ books were issued to the students…
